Garrett is a native of Cumberland, Kentucky. He is one of only four Indian Basketball players in the history of Cumberland College to be named as a member of an NAIA All-American team. Gregory was named as an NAIA All-American in 1985 and in 1987, and he was twice named All-KIAC and All-District 32. He holds records as the leader in Field Goal percentage, for many years. Gregory led the Indians in scoring and in rebounds for 3 seasons at Cumberland and led the team to two national championship appearances as well as a #1 ranking and a #1 seed in the 1985-1986 seasons. Garrett currently resides in Johnson City, Tennessee, where he serves as a Plant Manager for Owens Corning Corporation.
