Brant Poore, the son of G.J. and Doris Poore, was born in Covington, KY. He has two older siblings, Darren and Natalie. Brant is a 1990 graduate of Walton-Verona High School, where he was a four-year starter on the baseball and basketball teams. He was selected to play in the East-West All Star baseball game after his senior season and is a member of Walton-Verona basketball's 1,000 point club. He was also a member of three region championship teams during his high school career.
As a four-year starting pitcher for the Cumberland Indians, Brant produced 28 career wins and 199 career strikeouts, earning the co-leader spot for both school records. With 10 wins in 1992, he is tied 4th all-time for single season wins. Brant holds the record for career innings pitched with 248. He pitched 80 innings in 1994 (6th all-time single season) and had 48 career appearances (5th all-time). Brant completed a double major in four years, graduating from Cumberland with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems and Political Science.
In 2004, Brant co-founded Information Capture Solutions, LLC as President & CEO. Prior to this, he was Director of Programming for Image Entry in London, KY. Brant has served in various coaching and board capacities for Williamsburg Little League in Tee Ball, Coach Pitch, and Player Pitch. He has also coached the Williamsburg 3rd and 4th grade basketball team for six years. Brant currently coaches his daughter's Upward basketball team and serves on the Williamsburg Tourism Board.
Brant resides in Williamsburg, KY with his wife, Jennifer. They have three sons Eric (21), Alec (17), Evan (14), and one daughter, Avery (6).
