A native of Whitley County, Kentucky, and a member of the Lady Indians Basketball team, Hope compiled some impressive statistics during her years at Cumberland. She is the second all time leading scorer with 1662 points, and average of 13 points per game, and is just one game off of the record for the most games played. She lead the Lady Indians in rebounding and field goal percentage for the 1987-1988 season and was the leading scorer in both the 1989-1990 and the 1990-1991 seasons. She also scored Cumberland's first triple double. Hope led the Indians to one NAIA National Tournament berth. Cumberland lost that game, 88-84, in double overtimetime to 2nd ranked Clafflin College despite Hope's 32 point effort. In addition, Hope was named a NAIA All-American for her efforts that season. She also holds the distinction of being the first person to score a point in the O. Wayne Rollins Center. Hope presently resides in Corbin where she enjoys being a homemaker.
