Hall of Fame
As a graduate of Whitley County High School, Roger enrolled at Cumberland in the Fall of 1980. He tried out for the Basketball team, earned a walk on position and eventually worked his way into the starting line up his freshman season. Roger holds 10 individual marks at Cumberland. He was the team's leading scorer following his junior and senior seasons and the leader in free throw percentage in his last three seasons. Roger scored 2068 points in his career, making him Cumberland's all-time leading scorer. A record that still stands 13 years later. Richardson was named as the NAIA District 32 Player of the Year for 1983, was twice named as an All-Conference and All-District performer. Roger currently resides in Williamsburg. He is employed by the Whitley County School System as a middle school physical education teacher and basketball coach.
