Hall of Fame
Eric Flinchum is the son of Roy and Kathy Flinchum and was born in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. He has one brother, Kane.
Flinchum graduated from University of the Cumberlands in 2007 with a BS in Business Admin and a minor in mathematics. He served as a graduate assistant coach at Campbell University in North Carolina from 2007-2009 while earning his MBA.
During his wrestling career at UC, he compiled a 115-13 record while earning NAIA All-American honors four times during his Patriot career (2003-2007). Competing at the 197 lbs. weight class, Flinchum placed fifth in 2004 before finishing as the NAIA national runner-up in 2005 and 2006. He transitioned to the 285 lbs. class for his senior year and posted a 31-1 record en route to winning an NAIA national title. In addition to his success at the national level, Flinchum tallied an impressive 41-1 record in dual meets and posted thirteen tournament wins over his Patriot career. Flinchum helped Cumberlands to a top-ten finish at the NAIA National Championships each of his four years.
He is currently the wrestling coach at Capitao Jiu-Jitsu & MMA in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He and his wife, Melissa have two children, Ava and Logan, and he works as an analyst for the US Air Force.
